The 'Stand-alone power systems: Design only' workshop is tailored for professionals looking to deepen their understanding of off-grid energy solutions. This three-day course, hosted at the WITT Campus in New Plymouth, provides a comprehensive curriculum that builds on foundational knowledge from previous courses on grid-connected systems.
Course Structure
Participants will engage in a blend of online self-directed learning and in-person instruction. The course includes:
Pre-course learning: 100 hours of online study at your own pace.
In-person sessions: 24 hours of intensive training over three days.
Post-course assignment: 16 hours to consolidate learning.

By the end of the workshop, attendees will be equipped to:
Assess site suitability for stand-alone power systems and estimate energy yields.
Analyze energy consumption and create load profiles.
Select appropriate battery technologies and design systems for installation.
Understand regulations and standards relevant to stand-alone power systems.
Who Should Attend?
This course is ideal for non-practicing electrical engineers and technical salespeople with an electrical background. Completion of the 'Grid-Connected PV Systems: Design Only' course is a prerequisite, while prior knowledge of grid-connected battery systems is recommended.
