Our principle

Cut through the green tape

We don't push agendas. At Net Zero Compare, we cut through the hype and fear to deliver the straightforward facts you need for making informed decisions on green products and services. Whether motivated by compliance, customer demands, or a real passion for the environment, you’re welcome here. We provide reliable information—why you seek it is not our concern.

Esko, a global leader in packaging and label software and hardware, has introduced a new carbon emission calculation tool through its S2 platform. Developed in partnership with UK-based sustainability experts CarbonQuota, the new feature enables packaging brands and converters to automatically measure and reduce their carbon footprint across the entire packaging lifecycle.

By integrating CarbonQuota’s calculation engine into the Esko workflow, users can now access accurate carbon footprint data at the design, development, and production stages. This automation eliminates the need for time-consuming manual calculations and helps companies comply with sustainability regulations such as Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).

“Sustainability is no longer optional, it’s essential,” said Geert De Proost, Director of Product Partnerships at Esko. “This partnership allows us to provide a reliable, scalable solution that supports both regulatory compliance and growing consumer demand for environmentally responsible products.”

The integration provides actionable sustainability insights, helping businesses make better decisions and align with the expectations of major brands that now demand environmental impact data from their suppliers.

CarbonQuota, founded in 2019 by Dominic Harris and Nathan Tiller, is known for its scientifically validated carbon data. Harris emphasized the need for collaboration in the industry, noting that suppliers often struggle to meet sustainability expectations due to inconsistent standards and narrow profit margins.

The carbon calculation feature is now live in the Esko S2 platform, with additional integrations (including Cape Prime, Phoenix, and WebCenter) planned through 2025.
