Event Overview

The Grid-Connected Battery Storage Systems (GCBS) workshop is designed for professionals seeking to enhance their expertise in battery storage systems integrated with photovoltaic (PV) technology. Scheduled for August 18, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM, this workshop will provide attendees with essential skills and knowledge necessary for the design, installation, and maintenance of these systems.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will learn to:

  • Plan and design battery storage systems for grid-connected PV systems.

  • Execute installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of these systems.

  • Document the processes involved in the installation and maintenance of battery storage systems.

Accreditation

Upon completion, attendees will receive a NZQA Level 4 Micro-credential (10 credits), which is recognized as part of the New Zealand Qualified Pathway for obtaining a Mains Parallel Generation Systems license endorsement by the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB).

Prerequisites

To enroll, participants must be a Registered Electrician, Electrical Engineer, or Electrical Inspector. Additionally, completion of the Grid-connected Photovoltaic Systems (GCPV) Micro-credential is required prior to attending this workshop.

Course Structure

The workshop is part of a three-day course, with a total of approximately 76 hours of self-paced online learning required before attending the in-person sessions. The course fee is $1,552.50, inclusive of GST, and printed materials can be requested for an additional cost.
