Event Overview
The BEC Net-zero Carbon Charter Annual Event, themed "Unlocking Strategies for Climate Risk Management and Communication," serves as a vital platform for showcasing the progress of the Net-zero Carbon Charter. Launched in March 2023, the Charter aims to unite companies in Hong Kong towards achieving long-term decarbonisation goals. As of May 2025, it has garnered 90 signatories, including 25 Science-aligned and 65 Action Signatories, reflecting its growing impact.
Objectives
The event will present the latest developments from the Charter and analyze local decarbonisation trends based on responses to the Charter's questionnaires. It aims to provide practical guidance for companies on their decarbonisation journeys and explore how effective climate communication can enhance stakeholder engagement and drive action towards a sustainable economy.
Programme Highlights
The event will feature opening remarks by Mr. Simon Ng, CEO of the Business Environment Council, followed by an awarding ceremony recognizing new Charter signatories. Attendees can expect insightful presentations and a panel discussion addressing the climate risk management practices of large corporations versus SMEs, moderated by Mr. Merlin Lao, Head of Policy & Research at BEC.
