With only a month to go, preparations are underway for the 1st International Conference of Net Zero Carbon Built Environment (ZCBE) 2024. The conference will take place from July 3-5, 2024, at the University of Nottingham, UK, and is set to be a significant event for researchers, industry experts, and policymakers dedicated to advancing sustainable building practices.

Key Points:

  • Event Details: The ZCBE 2024 will be held at the University of Nottingham from July 3-5, 2024. It is organized jointly by the University of Nottingham, University of Adelaide, Technical University of Crete, and Pennsylvania State University, with support from Renewable Energy and Solar Energy Advances.

  • Focus Areas: The conference will cover critical topics such as advances in renewable energy technology, energy storage and integration, low carbon communities, health and wellbeing in the built environment, innovative building design, and decarbonization of building stock.

  • Importance of NZEBs: Nearly Zero-Energy Buildings (NZEBs) are a primary focus, aiming to reduce energy demand and meet remaining needs through renewable sources. NZEBs are crucial for achieving the global goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.
