Core Features

Everimpact is built around measurement rather than estimation. Its platform combines ground observations with satellite, weather and other contextual data, while proprietary analysis attributes measured emissions to individual sources. This creates an emissions baseline against which subsequent changes can be assessed. Some of its main capabilities are:

  • Satellite and Ground-Based Measurement: Everimpact combines satellite observations with continuously operating ground sensors. For city deployments, satellite data is used to recalibrate the sensor network and improve the spatial coverage and accuracy of measurements.

  • Live Emissions Mapping: Dashboards display historical, current and forecast GHG data, allowing users to visualize emissions across the monitored area rather than waiting for periodic inventories.

  • Emission Source Attribution: Everimpact uses weather and other data to attribute measured emissions to sources such as transport, buildings, industrial activities and waste facilities, helping users locate emissions hotspots.

  • Decarbonization Impact Monitoring: Once a baseline is established, users can measure changes in emissions and assess the actual impact of policies or projects, such as transport interventions and other reduction measures.

  • Carbon Sequestration Monitoring: Satellite-based monitoring extends the platform beyond emissions to carbon removal. Everimpact has applied this approach to forests and agroforestry, including monitoring carbon sequestration from Moringa plantations.

  • Climate Finance Support: Everimpact aims to turn independently measured and certified emissions or sequestration data into evidence for financing mechanisms including green bonds, green loans and carbon markets.

Closing Insights

Everimpact was founded by Mathieu Carlier, Alain Retière and Jan Pronk, whose combined backgrounds included around 80 years of United Nations experience. Their work ranged from satellite-based systems and international development projects to climate finance, providing relevant foundations for Everimpact’s combination of remote sensing, physical monitoring and climate-finance applications. Its deployments illustrate the breadth of that approach. Deployments include Dijon, where 75 ground CO₂ sensors were installed to establish an emissions baseline and track climate action, as well as smart-city projects in Porto and Madrid covering waste and transport emissions.

Everimpact has since expanded its monitoring technology beyond cities into shipping, forests and other applications. Its technology has been deployed across multiple geographies, while partnerships including Hitachi Systems have supported forestry applications in Japan. For potential users, Everimpact is less a conventional emissions-inventory platform than a monitoring solution for organizations seeking to measure actual emissions or sequestration and verify whether climate interventions are delivering measurable results.
