Event Overview

The webinar titled "Accelerating Rural Decarbonisation: Updates on the REACH Innovation Project" is set to take place on May 13, 2025, from 13:00 to 14:30 (BST). This online event is organized by Regen and aims to share insights from the ongoing REACH Innovation Project, which is focused on helping rural communities achieve their decarbonisation goals.

Background

From March to May 2024, Regen participated in an Ofgem-funded innovation project that explored solutions for rural communities in constrained electricity network areas. The project identified the potential for an "energy centre" that includes a battery, optional electric vehicle chargers, smart controls, and a centrally managed heating system to address grid demand constraints. This initiative has engaged seven community organizations, with two expected to continue into the next phase.

What to Expect

Participants will learn about the impact of demand constraints on rural energy projects and explore the energy centre concept's role in community energy. The event will also provide an opportunity for attendees to give feedback on potential use cases for the solutions being developed. A Q&A session will allow for further discussion and clarification on the topics presented.

This event is free to attend and is particularly relevant for community energy stakeholders interested in innovative approaches to rural decarbonisation. For more information and to register, visit the event page.
