Overview
The 2025 International Model Forest Network (IMFN) Global Forum is set to be a significant gathering for professionals and stakeholders in sustainable forest management. Scheduled from May 26 to May 30, 2025, at the Kemptville Campus Education and Community Centre, this forum will host approximately 200 delegates from over 60 Model Forests worldwide, fostering a rich exchange of knowledge and experiences.
Objectives and Activities
The forum serves multiple purposes:
Decision-Making: The IMFN Assembly will convene to make critical decisions on various matters affecting the network.
Collaboration: It aims to enhance collaboration and synergies among members, strengthening the network's impact.
Visibility: The forum will also work to increase the visibility of the IMFN within broader international forest policy discussions.
Participants can expect a series of parallel regional governance meetings, a multi-day IMFN Assembly, and an IMFN Climate knowledge consolidation workshop. Additionally, there will be opportunities for one-day field tours to explore local governance processes and sustainable practices within the host Model Forest.
Venue
The Kemptville Campus is strategically located less than an hour from downtown Ottawa and spans 254 hectares, featuring diverse ecosystems including woodlands, cropland, and wetlands. This facility is not only a hub for education but also a model of sustainable land use, certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
This forum represents a unique opportunity for participants to engage with global leaders in forest management, share insights, and develop strategies that address both local and global challenges in sustainable forestry. For more information, visit the IMFN Global Forum website.
