Summary

Smart Freight Centre is an international non-profit organization focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions from freight transportation and logistics. Established in 2013, SFC works with companies, logistics providers, NGOs and governments to improve emissions measurement, reporting and decarbonization strategies across global supply chains. It is particularly known for developing and managing the Global Logistics Emissions Council, or GLEC, Framework, which supports consistent calculation and reporting of logistics emissions and is aligned with ISO 14083. SFC also develops guidance on sustainable logistics procurement, book and claim systems, zero-emission freight technologies and other measures intended to support the transition toward zero-emission freight and logistics by 2050 or earlier.
