Shopify is a Canadian commerce technology company providing infrastructure that enables businesses to create, operate, and scale online and physical retail operations. Its platform includes online storefronts, payment processing, point-of-sale systems, inventory tools, marketing capabilities and applications for merchants. Shopify serves businesses in around 175 countries and has also participated in carbon removal procurement through Frontier and other climate initiatives. The Shopify platform was released in 2006 after the company was established in Ottawa.
