Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment (Republic of Korea)

Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment (Republic of Korea) is the South Korean government ministry responsible for national policies on climate change, environmental protection, energy transition, and greenhouse gas reduction. Established in 2025 through the reorganization of the former Ministry of Environment and the transfer of most energy policy functions from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, it serves as the country's central authority for achieving carbon neutrality, managing air and water quality, conserving biodiversity, promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency, and coordinating South Korea's international climate commitments. The ministry also supervises numerous affiliated agencies and public institutions involved in environmental management, research, and resource conservation.
