Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai (IIT Bhilai)

The Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai (IIT Bhilai) is a public technical university located in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, India. It was established by the Indian Government in 2016 and is one of the newer member campuses of the IIT system. The institute operates under the Ministry of Education and has been designated as an Institute of National Importance. Its campus is situated in the Chhattisgarh region and, from its transit location, is transitioning toward a permanent campus site. IIT Bhilai offers undergraduate (BTech), postgraduate (MTech/MSc), and doctoral (PhD) programs across engineering, science, and interdisciplinary disciplines. The institute emphasises research, innovation, and industry collaboration, and is developing infrastructure to support advanced laboratories, workshops, and maker spaces. As a newer institution, its growth strategy includes scaling student intake, expanding faculty, and establishing partnerships in academia and industry.
