Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB)

Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) is a public research university in Bandung, Indonesia, with strong emphasis on science, engineering, technology and fine arts. ITB traces its roots back to 3 July 1920, when it was founded as the Dutch-era Technische Hoogeschool te Bandoeng. After Indonesia’s independence, the institution was reconstituted as ITB on 2 March 1959. Today it remains one of Indonesia’s premier technical universities, offering a wide range of engineering, science, arts and research programmes across multiple faculties, and has produced tens of thousands of alumni. ITB continues to play a major role in Indonesia’s higher education and national development.
