European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT)

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is a body of the European Union, established in 2008 to strengthen Europe’s innovation capacity. Headquartered in Budapest, Hungary, the EIT integrates education, research, and business through its network of Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs), including EIT RawMaterials, EIT InnoEnergy, and others. Its mission is to drive sustainable growth and competitiveness by supporting entrepreneurs, start-ups, and learners in key sectors such as climate, energy, digitalisation, and advanced manufacturing. The EIT plays a central role in the EU’s efforts to build a skilled workforce and foster technologies essential for the green and digital transitions.
