Government of Sweden

The Government of Sweden is the executive authority of the Kingdom of Sweden, responsible for governing the country and implementing laws adopted by the Riksdag (parliament). It is led by the Prime Minister, who is appointed by the Speaker of the Riksdag and approved by parliament, and is supported by a cabinet of ministers heading various government departments. The Government proposes legislation, manages state administration, and represents Sweden domestically and internationally. Sweden operates as a constitutional monarchy and parliamentary democracy, where the monarch serves as head of state with ceremonial duties, while executive power rests with the Government.
