Building Transparency

Building Transparency is a Washington State nonprofit organization formed in 2020. Its mission is to provide the tools and resources needed to reduce embodied carbon in the construction industry. The organization is best known for creating the free, open-access EC3 tool, which helps compare and procure lower-carbon building materials. They manage a large database of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and actively support "Buy Clean" policies. Their work enables the building sector to make more sustainable choices to combat climate change.
