Borealis

Borealis is a polymer manufacturing and technology business established in 1994 through the combination of the petrochemical businesses of Neste and Statoil. Based in Vienna, Austria, it develops polyethylene, polypropylene, and associated technologies for industrial and consumer applications. Its activities include mechanical plastics recycling and the development of compounds containing recycled materials. In 2026, Borealis became a constituent business of Borouge International alongside Borouge and NOVA Chemicals.
