Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR)

The Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) is an international non-profit trade association representing the plastics recycling industry, founded over 30 years ago by mechanical recyclers. It brings together companies across the recycling value chain, including processors, converters, and brand owners, and represents a significant share of post-consumer plastic processing capacity in North America. APR focuses on advancing plastics recycling through industry coordination, technical standards, and policy engagement. Its core tools include the APR Design® Guide, recyclability testing protocols, and certification programs supporting packaging design and recycled content markets.
