The upcoming webinar, "Communities of Practice as Launchpads for Sustainability Across the Campus," is set for October 14, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM EDT. This event, organized by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), will showcase how collaborative learning communities can drive sustainability efforts in higher education. Participants will hear firsthand accounts from faculty and staff who have engaged in a Climate Solutions Community of Practice, which included 24 faculty and 6 staff members from 8 campuses within the State University of New York system.

During the webinar, attendees will learn about the redesign of 23 undergraduate courses across 15 disciplines, aimed at integrating climate change education into the curriculum. The initiative not only impacted academic offerings but also fostered civic engagement and transformed campuses into living laboratories for sustainability. The discussions will highlight the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and the role of sustainability staff in facilitating these initiatives.

This event is an excellent opportunity for educators and sustainability advocates to explore innovative strategies for enhancing sustainability practices in academic settings. For more information and to register, visit the AASHE registration page.
