Course Overview
The Sustainable Food Growing Course: Harvesting the Seasons is designed for individuals aged 18 and over who are interested in sustainable gardening practices. This course, hosted at the Calthorpe Community Garden, spans from April 2025 to February 2026 and consists of 10 workshops held every 3-5 weeks. Each session lasts 2.5 hours, combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience.
Learning Objectives
Participants will learn eco-friendly practices such as rainwater harvesting, natural pest management, and techniques to improve soil health without chemicals. The course emphasizes year-round food production through methods like intercropping and companion planting, ensuring a continuous supply of fresh produce.
Course Structure
The course is divided into two groups:
Group 1 meets on Friday evenings from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
Group 2 meets on Saturday mornings from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
The first session kicks off on April 4, 2025, with subsequent sessions scheduled throughout the year.
Registration and Fees
