Overview
The Forest Rising Summer Workshops are designed to empower the next generation of environmental leaders through hands-on experience in tree planting and conservation. This free program is tailored for young individuals aged 16 to 28, providing them with essential green skills and insights into Plymouth's green industry.
Workshop Schedule
The workshops will take place at Poole Farm, Plymouth, from 12:45 PM to 4:30 PM on the following dates:
- July 30: Introduction to the Community Tree Nursery and seeds.
- August 6: Tree identification, water management, and selecting the right tree for the right place.
- August 13: Site surveying, soil analysis, and design principles.
- August 20: Tree aftercare techniques.
- August 27: Woodland management and tool usage.
- September 3: Exploration of ancient woodlands and veteran trees.
Participants will gain practical experience, join the Forest Rising network, and receive a digital badge for their CV, along with refreshments during the workshops.
