Event Overview
The EBI – UNEP live session titled "Upstream decision-making to finance climate resilient infrastructure" is scheduled for June 25, 2025, from 14:30 to 15:30 BST. This online event, co-organized by the Enabling Better Infrastructure (EBI) programme and the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), aims to address critical aspects of financing climate-resilient infrastructure.
The session will be chaired by Prof. Jim Hall, the current ICE President and EBI Chair. It will focus on the early-stage assessments and decisions that shape the infrastructure life cycle, emphasizing the importance of considering financial needs upfront to prevent bottlenecks later on. Participants will gain insights into various financing options, including public finance, public-private partnerships, and Multilateral Development Bank financing.
Additionally, the session will highlight findings from UNEP and the University of Oxford's recent report on sustainable fiscal policies for climate-resilient development. This event is part of a broader series of UNEP & EBI webinars aimed at fostering discussions on sustainable infrastructure and sharing experiences from diverse contexts.
