Overview

On September 16, 2026, BEREC will host a workshop focused on the sufficiency of digital technologies for greener networks and ICTs. This hybrid event will be held at the IRG Secretariat in Brussels and online, running from 10:00 to 16:00 CEST. The workshop is co-chaired by Mary Sarantopoulou from EETT, Greece, and Tom Nico from Arcep, France.

Objectives

The workshop aims to raise awareness and foster a shared understanding of digital sufficiency, addressing its relevance to the ICT and telecommunications sectors. Participants will explore practical examples, opportunities, and challenges in implementing sufficiency strategies. The agenda includes presentations from academia and industry, as well as a roundtable discussion titled "Beyond efficiency: How to deploy sufficiency in ICTs?"

Registration

Interested participants can register through the registration form. Note that in-person attendance is limited to 45 participants, with registration closing on September 10, 2026, for in-person attendees and September 15, 2026, for online participants. Following the event, BEREC will publish a summary report along with the presentations and video recordings for broader access.
