Core Features
ReSource is designed as a multi-party traceability and ESG data-sharing platform for battery and critical-minerals ecosystems. The system combines supply-chain mapping, sustainability reporting, compliance workflows, and Battery Passport functionality within a unified digital infrastructure. Its capabilities include:
Critical Minerals Traceability – Tracks materials such as cobalt, nickel, lithium, and graphite across complex, multi-tier supply chains from mine to battery production.
Battery Passport Generation – Supports creation of digital Battery Passports containing provenance, sustainability, compliance, and supply-chain information for EV and industrial batteries.
ESG Data Exchange – Provides standardized systems for collecting, sharing, and analysing supplier sustainability and compliance information across battery ecosystems.
Supply Chain Mapping – Enables continuous visibility into upstream and downstream suppliers using verified traceability data and shipment-level tracking.
Audit and Compliance Workflows – Supports due diligence, traceability audits, compliance documentation, and regulatory reporting for responsible sourcing programs.
Role-Based Data Access – Allows organizations to control how sustainability and provenance data is shared between suppliers, manufacturers, customers, and regulators.
Closing Insights
ReSource began as a traceability initiative for responsibly sourced cobalt before expanding into a broader platform for critical-minerals traceability, ESG performance management, and Battery Passports. The platform reflects growing pressure on battery and EV supply chains to demonstrate transparency around mineral origin, environmental impacts, and responsible sourcing practices. According to ReSource, the system was developed to connect digital data flows with physical material movements throughout battery supply chains.
The platform is closely aligned with the European Union Battery Regulation (EU 2023/1542), which will require digital Battery Passports for many EV and industrial batteries from February 2027. ReSource presents its software as a way to simplify compliance with battery regulations, ESG due diligence obligations, import restrictions, and sustainability reporting requirements. ReSource operates within the broader ecosystem of battery passport and traceability initiatives involving organizations such as the Global Battery Alliance and several leading battery supply-chain companies.
