Core Features
ProductDNA® focuses on capturing primary data directly from supply chain actors and linking it to individual products. Rather than relying solely on aggregated ESG reporting, it structures data at the material, process, and supplier level, enabling brands to validate sustainability claims and respond to regulatory requirements with verifiable evidence. Its core features include:
End-to-End Supply Chain Traceability: Captures upstream data “from farm to product,” linking suppliers, materials, and processes into a continuous chain of custody.
Product-Level ESG & Carbon Data: Integrates environmental metrics such as GHG calculations and material impacts at the product level to support reporting and analysis.
Certificate & Compliance Management: Connects verified certifications (e.g. environmental and social standards) and audit data to products for compliance readiness.
Digital Product Passport (DPP) Readiness: Provides structured data and QR/RFID-enabled identifiers to meet emerging EU regulations such as ESPR.
AI-Enabled Data Processing: Uses AI and OCR to convert documents and supplier inputs into structured, usable data.
Integrated Modules (Product, Certificate, Digital, Packaging): Modular architecture supports material analysis, compliance reporting, consumer transparency, and packaging impact tracking.
Closing Insights
ProductDNA® emerged as part of Trimco Group’s broader move from physical labeling and trims into digital supply chain infrastructure. Launched in 2022 and expanded with ProductDNA® 2.0, the platform reflects increasing regulatory pressure on brands to demonstrate transparency and environmental accountability across their value chains. Its design focuses on consolidating fragmented sustainability data into a single system, allowing brands to “monitor, report, assess, and optimise” supply chain performance while reducing duplication across tools.
The platform has been adopted by brands such as ASICS and DK Company, supporting use cases ranging from traceability to social and environmental compliance monitoring. It also integrates with external data providers and standards organisations including bluesign®, Worldly, and amfori, enabling access to verified environmental and social impact data across supply chains.
From a carbon perspective, ProductDNA® enables product-level emissions insights by linking primary production data with calculation frameworks, supporting Scope 3 visibility in complex supply chains. At the same time, its readiness for Digital Product Passports and regulations such as ESPR positions it as infrastructure for future compliance and circularity initiatives.
