Core Features
Energy Monitor combines automated measurement with analysis and management tools, allowing organizations to progress from simply recording consumption to identifying and implementing efficiency improvements.
Automated Energy Monitoring: Energy Monitor automatically collects consumption data from connected meters and equipment. It is manufacturer-independent and supports different communication protocols.
Energy Analysis and Dashboards: Flexible dashboards can display consumption, energy costs and performance indicators for different users, including energy managers, facility teams and management. The software helps identify unusual consumption, load peaks and inefficient equipment or processes.
AI and Predictive Analytics: OPTENDA uses AI and machine learning to identify anomalies, patterns and potential energy savings within consumption data. An optional Predictive Analytics module supports forward-looking analysis, while the integrated OPTENDA Copilot assists users with analysis and routine energy-management tasks.
ISO 50001 Management: A dedicated module supports organizations operating an energy management system according to DIN EN ISO 50001. It includes action plans, documentation, a Kanban board for measures and tasks, and integrated VALERI calculations for assessing the financial viability of energy-efficiency measures.
Multi-Site and Scalable Monitoring: Companies can connect an unlimited number of measurement points and user accounts, adding new equipment and meters as their monitoring requirements expand. An optional Multisite Portal provides centralized energy management across multiple locations.
System Integration and APIs: A REST API allows Energy Monitor to exchange data with other business systems, while standard integrations are available for information such as weather and electricity-market data. This allows energy information to become part of wider operational and reporting workflows rather than remaining in a separate monitoring system.
Closing Insights
Energy Monitor has been used for more than 13 years, giving OPTENDA considerable experience with industrial energy data and measurement infrastructure. Its references span machinery, plastics, paper, food, automation and medical technology, with named customers including MULTIVAC, DMG MORI and Gissler & Pass. PERI, for example, implemented Energy Monitor at its Günzburg production site as part of efforts to improve energy efficiency; the project also contributed a new feature to the software.
A useful distinction is that OPTENDA combines software with measurement-system integration and energy-management expertise. Companies can therefore receive support developing the measurement concept, selecting hardware and connecting plant and site data rather than having to establish the underlying data infrastructure independently. Energy Monitor can additionally be combined with the separate CO₂ Monitor, allowing energy data to support carbon footprinting and reduction planning.
Energy Monitor is available in German, English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and French, with other languages available on request.
