Core Features
The Fairglow platform uses granular product and activity data to measure environmental impacts, supplemented with supplier-specific information where available for greater precision. Some of its main capabilities include:
Product Life Cycle Assessment: Calculates environmental impacts across complete health and beauty product portfolios, including products with complex formulations, reusable packaging and multiple supply chains. Its LCA covers 16 PEF environmental impact categories.
Cosmetics Emissions Database: Provides a proprietary library of 30,000 ingredient emission factors spanning synthetic, natural, biotechnological, mineral and animal-derived ingredients, with customization using supplier data.
Scope 1, 2 and 3 Accounting: Produces corporate carbon inventories using product information alongside other company data, with reporting available in GHG Protocol and BEGES formats.
Eco-Design Scenarios: Models the environmental consequences of changing formulations, ingredients, packaging materials, manufacturing processes and other product characteristics before changes are implemented.
Data Automation: Aggregates and structures fragmented information from ERP and PLM systems and files including Excel, CSV and PDF, using algorithms to organize and complete environmental datasets.
Decarbonization Planning: Connects product-level environmental analysis with corporate Scope 1, 2 and 3 reduction strategies, allowing companies to model how product changes affect their wider environmental performance.
Closing Insights
Founded in France in 2023, Fairglow emerged from research in computational chemistry and environmental modelling. The platform's sector specialization addresses a specific LCA data gap: many cosmetic ingredients lack inventories in general-purpose environmental databases. Fairglow says it reconstructed environmental data for approximately 30,000 COSING ingredients, while allowing supplier-specific data to refine assessments.
Fairglow raised €3 million in 2026, with backing from Ternel, SWEN Capital Partners and Kima Ventures. The funding is supporting expansion of its sector database, AI-assisted environmental modelling, Digital Product Passport capabilities and European commercial growth. Fairglow also combines its software with expert support for environmental reduction strategies.
