Core Features
As detailed in its white paper, the Dawn platform uses live product, BOM and supply-chain data to build reusable LCA models that can scale across product portfolios. AI assists with data collection, mapping and modelling while maintaining traceability. Some of its main capabilities include:
Life Cycle Assessment: Conducts ISO 14040/14044-aligned LCAs across product life cycles, with support for methods including EF 3.1, IPCC 2021 and ReCiPe 2016.
Product Carbon Footprints: Calculates PCFs from live BOM, material, production and supplier information, allowing footprint calculations to be scaled across multiple products.
Environmental Databases: Incorporates the EU Environmental Footprint database and supports integration with ecoinvent, providing background data for environmental modelling.
EPD Generation: Produces EN 15804-aligned EPD outputs from underlying LCAs, including structured results and supporting evidence for third-party verification workflows.
Scenario and Hotspot Analysis: Identifies environmental hotspots and enables teams to compare alternative materials, sourcing choices and other scenarios to investigate improvement opportunities.
Enterprise Data Integration: Connects sustainability information with ERP, PLM and CAD systems and spreadsheets, enabling product and environmental information to remain synchronized rather than maintained in separate datasets.
Closing Insights
Dawn was founded in Denmark in 2023 by Frederik Denning and Vladimirs Mihnovics and originally operated as Sustainly. Its initial focus was LCA and sustainability compliance, with the founders seeking to make detailed environmental data more accessible and scalable for companies that could not rely on specialist-heavy workflows. The company subsequently broadened its scope after working with manufacturers and identifying similar problems around fragmented product, compliance and operational data.
That evolution culminated in Sustainly becoming Dawn in 2026. Rather than abandoning LCA, the new platform embeds it within a wider AI workforce for manufacturing. Specialized agents address sustainability, compliance, procurement, supply chains, production planning and data management while working from shared product information. Dawn also maintains an implementation network that includes NRGi Consulting, DMR, Tekstilrevolutionen, Viegand Maagøe and Knowit, bringing specialist LCA, EPD and sustainability expertise to deployments.
As of August 2026, Dawn's pricing starts at €399/month for its Starter plan, covering one user, up to 25 suppliers and 100 SKUs. The Pro plan costs €599/month, while Scale costs €999/month and supports up to 10 users, 100 suppliers and 750 SKUs.
