World Resources Institute

Established in 1982, WRI's mission is to move human society to live in ways that protect Earth's environment and its capacity to provide for the needs and aspirations of current and future generations. With nearly 1,900 staff worldwide, WRI operates through country offices in Brazil, China, Colombia, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Mexico, and the United States, as well as regional offices in Africa and Europe. The organization focuses on transforming the ways the world produces and consumes food and energy and designs its cities, employing a "count it, change it, scale it" approach to create lasting impact. This involves rigorous research, collaboration with partners to apply evidence-based strategies, and sharing lessons learned to drive systemic change globally.
