The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) is a CEO-led organization comprising over 230 leading businesses committed to accelerating the transition to a sustainable world. Established in 1995 and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, WBCSD focuses on addressing global challenges such as climate change, nature loss, and inequality. The council works towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by transforming key economic systems, including circular economy, cities and mobility, climate and energy, food, land and water, and people. Through collaborative initiatives, WBCSD aims to create long-term value for both business and society, envisioning a world where more than 9 billion people can live well within planetary boundaries by 2050.
