The Sea Cargo Charter Association

The Sea Cargo Charter Association is the membership body responsible for the governance, administration, and development of the Sea Cargo Charter, an industry initiative aimed at aligning maritime chartering activities with global climate goals. Developed through collaboration among cargo owners, shipowners, and maritime organizations with support from groups such as the Global Maritime Forum, the framework provides a common methodology for assessing the emissions intensity of shipping activities. Signatories to the Sea Cargo Charter automatically become members of the Association, which is coordinated by a Steering Committee representing major companies across shipping and commodities sectors.
