Solcast

Solcast is an Australian renewable-energy data and forecasting business founded in 2016 by James Luffman and Dr. Nick Engerer, both meteorologists with experience applying weather information to the electricity sector. Its data and models support solar and wind developers, asset owners, utilities, energy traders and other renewable energy organizations with resource assessment, generation forecasting and grid operations. The company was acquired by DNV in January 2023 and now operates as part of DNV’s Green Data Products portfolio.
