Second Nature Inc.

Second Nature is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization that works to accelerate climate action in and through higher education. Founded in 1993 by environmental health and sustainability leaders including Anthony Cortese, John Kerry and Teresa Heinz, the organization helps colleges and universities integrate sustainability and climate leadership into institutional strategy, operations, research, and education. Its flagship initiative is the Climate Leadership Network, which connects higher-education institutions committed to decarbonization, climate resilience, and climate justice.
