The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) is a U.S.-based nonprofit membership organization that supports the integration of sustainability into higher education institutions. AASHE serves universities, colleges, and other higher education stakeholders through benchmarking frameworks, professional development, research resources, conferences, and peer-learning networks. It operates STARS (Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System), a widely used framework that enables institutions to measure, benchmark, and publicly report sustainability performance across academics, engagement, operations, and governance.
