POET Bioprocessing

POET is a US biofuel and bioproducts company that operates a large network of agricultural bioprocessing facilities across the Midwest. Founded in 1987 from a single facility in Scotland, South Dakota, the company has expanded to 35 bioprocessing plants and describes itself as the world's largest producer of biofuel. Its products include bioethanol, animal feed ingredients, corn oil, renewable carbon dioxide and other plant-derived materials designed to replace petroleum-based alternatives. POET Bioprocessing facilities convert corn and other agricultural inputs into fuels and co-products using integrated processing systems. The company is also exploring technologies that can reduce fossil energy consumption at production sites, including Antora Energy's thermal batteries, which can provide high-temperature industrial heat using stored electricity.
