NHS England

NHS England is the public body responsible for overseeing healthcare delivery across England’s National Health Service. Established in 2013 under NHS reforms, it manages funding allocation, service commissioning, operational planning, and performance oversight for hospitals, primary care, and regional health systems. The organisation works through 42 Integrated Care Systems introduced under the Health and Care Act 2022 to coordinate providers, local authorities, and community services. NHS England also oversees specialised commissioning, workforce planning, procurement strategy, and digital health infrastructure supporting healthcare delivery across England.
