Summary
Cloud Infrastructure Services Providers in Europe (CISPE) is a European non-profit trade association representing cloud infrastructure providers, particularly infrastructure-as-a-service operators. Founded in 2015, CISPE works on policy, competition, data protection, digital sovereignty, cloud procurement and sustainability issues affecting Europe’s cloud and data centre sector. The association promotes fair software licensing principles, cloud data protection standards, sovereign cloud services and climate-neutral digital infrastructure. CISPE was involved in the development of the Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact, a self-regulatory initiative designed to support climate-neutral data centres in Europe by 2030. It also engages with EU institutions on cloud market rules, public procurement, vendor lock-in and the role of European cloud infrastructure in digital autonomy.
