Lloyd’s Register is a maritime professional services and classification organization specializing in vessel safety, technical assurance, compliance, engineering, and sustainability. Founded in London in 1760, it is one of the world's oldest ship classification organizations. Lloyd’s Register develops technical rules and guidance, conducts vessel surveys and certification, and provides advisory services to shipowners, operators, manufacturers and other maritime stakeholders. Its work increasingly includes maritime decarbonization, alternative fuels, engine retrofits, energy efficiency and zero-emission technologies as the shipping industry responds to changing regulatory and commercial requirements.
