The Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security (Ministero dell'Ambiente e della Sicurezza Energetica – MASE) is the national government ministry responsible for Italy's environmental, climate and energy policies. Established as the Ministry of Environment in 1986, it gained broader energy responsibilities in 2021 and adopted its current name in 2022. Its remit covers climate policy, biodiversity and ecosystems, circular economy, waste and pollution, environmental assessments, renewable energy, energy efficiency, decarbonization and security of energy supply.
