International Water Association (IWA)

The International Water Association (IWA) is a global non-profit membership organisation and knowledge network for water professionals, utilities, researchers, companies, regulators and public-sector stakeholders. It works across the full water cycle, including drinking water, wastewater, sanitation, water security, climate resilience, digital water, resource recovery and sustainable urban water management. IWA connects professionals in more than 140 countries and supports knowledge exchange through specialist groups, publications, conferences, training and policy-focused initiatives. Its work is relevant to net zero and sustainability because water and wastewater systems are closely linked to energy use, infrastructure resilience, adaptation, emissions reduction and circular economy strategies.
