Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD Secretariat)

The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity, commonly known as the CBD Secretariat, supports the implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety and the Nagoya Protocol on Access and Benefit-Sharing. It coordinates meetings of the Conference of the Parties, supports national implementation, manages biodiversity information platforms and helps Parties advance global biodiversity goals, including conservation, sustainable use and fair and equitable benefit-sharing from genetic resources.
