Howden

Howden is an industrial engineering business specializing in air and gas handling equipment and services for sectors including mining, energy, power generation and heavy industry. Its portfolio includes industrial fans, compressors, blowers, ventilation systems and related technologies used in critical industrial processes. With a history extending more than 160 years, Howden operates through a global engineering and service network covering more than 100 countries. Chart Industries acquired Howden in 2023, and Chart subsequently became part of Baker Hughes in 2026. Howden is collaborating with the University of Technology Sydney to develop and commercialize catalytic technology aimed at reducing low-concentration methane emissions, including methane released through mine ventilation systems.
