Horizon Air

Horizon Air is a U.S. regional airline and wholly owned subsidiary of Alaska Air Group. Founded in 1981, it was created to serve regional routes in the Pacific Northwest after airline deregulation reshaped U.S. air service. Today, Horizon operates regional aircraft on behalf of Alaska Airlines, connecting smaller and medium-sized markets to Alaska’s broader network. Its operations support Alaska Air Group’s hub system, particularly in the western United States. As part of the group, Horizon is included in broader corporate priorities such as operational efficiency, safety, lower-emission ground operations and long-term aviation decarbonization.
