Government of Germany

The Government of Germany is a federal parliamentary republic composed of 16 states (Bundesländer). Executive authority lies with the Federal Chancellor, who leads the federal cabinet, while legislative power is shared between the Bundestag (Federal Parliament) and the Bundesrat (Federal Council representing the states).
