GALY is a biotechnology and climate technology company developing cotton and cocoa through plant cell cultivation. Its biocrafting platform grows plant cells in controlled production systems, with the aim of providing traceable and consistent agricultural materials while reducing exposure to land constraints, seasonal variation, pests and extreme weather. The company’s main textile innovation is GALY Cotton, a cell-cultivated material designed for applications including fashion, personal care products, home textiles, industrial materials and medical supplies. GALY is also applying its platform to cocoa production. The company was founded in 2019 by Brazilian entrepreneur Luciano Bueno and relocated its operations from western Massachusetts to Boston in 2022.
