Export Development Canada (EDC)

Export Development Canada is Canada’s official export credit agency and a federal financial Crown corporation. It provides financing, credit insurance, guarantees, risk-management products and market knowledge to help Canadian companies export, invest and expand internationally. EDC operates under the Export Development Act and is accountable to the Canadian Parliament through the minister responsible for international trade. Its services are intended to complement those offered by commercial financial institutions, particularly where exporters face political, commercial or financing risks in foreign markets.
