European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA)

CINEA is an executive agency of the European Commission responsible for implementing key EU programmes that support climate action, renewable energy, sustainable transport, clean innovation and environmental protection. Established in 2021 as the successor to the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency, CINEA manages the EU Innovation Fund, Horizon Europe climate and energy actions, the LIFE Programme and important segments of the Connecting Europe Facility. Its mission is to help deliver the European Green Deal by funding high-impact projects that reduce emissions, improve energy security, modernise infrastructure and safeguard natural ecosystems. The agency ensures rigorous evaluation, monitoring and performance reporting for large-scale projects in industry, energy systems, transport corridors and nature restoration.
