Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit (ECIU)

The Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit, or ECIU, is a UK-based independent non-profit organization focused on improving public debate around climate change, energy policy, net-zero, heating, transport, land use, food, farming, and the wider energy transition. It produces analysis, commentary, briefings, and media support for journalists, policymakers, businesses, and public audiences. ECIU is frequently used as a source for data-led insight on UK climate and energy issues, including household clean technology adoption, fossil fuel costs, net zero policy and climate impacts. The organization is funded by philanthropic foundations and donors, and describes its role as supporting informed, evidence-based discussion rather than acting as a commercial consultancy.
