Colombia Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development

The Colombian Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, or Minambiente, leads national environmental and climate policy. It provides guidance on Colombia’s carbon tax, carbon neutrality strategy and market instruments for greenhouse gas mitigation. The ministry describes the carbon tax as an economic instrument created by Law 1819 of 2016 and supports related procedures for non-causation and carbon neutrality.
