Central Iowa Power Cooperative (CIPCO)

Central Iowa Power Cooperative, or CIPCO, is a member-owned, not-for-profit generation and transmission electric cooperative serving electricity distribution cooperatives and associations across Iowa. Founded in 1946, CIPCO supplies the power requirements of 13 member-owned systems that collectively serve more than 300,000 rural and urban residents and over 13,000 commercial and industrial accounts. Its activities include electricity procurement, generation, transmission, grid infrastructure, and long-term resource planning. CIPCO participates in a diversified power supply portfolio and works with regional energy providers to maintain reliable electricity service for its member systems.
